Although you probably can’t tell by the majority of the content on the site, I’m actually a huge fan of Star Wars and Star Wars collecting. While I got fed up with the atrocious distribution and actually sold all of my Hasbro Star Wars collection last summer, I’m still an avid collector of Sideshow’s 1/6 scale line, as well as the various art and reference books dealing with Star Wars.

As of earlier this afternoon, USA Today published the official press release of the Hasbro and Gentle Giant collaboration for a super articulated 6″ scale Star Wars line, known as Star Wars Legends.
Rather then bore you with the details you can find on the USA Today article and other sites, I’m going to do a little bit of speculation and discussion as to what characters I’ll be killing for in this line this Fall.

Now, the thing that actually shocks me the most is that Hasbro stated in the press release that this is actually a line dedicated for adult collectors. Yes, you heard right, Hasbro actually listened to fans. While the focus of this new line is obviously more detailed, bigger figures with more articulation, it’s also important to note that Hasbro has stated it will focus more on the Original Trilogy. Now that doesn’t mean that we won’t be getting any Prequel Trilogy characters, as Darth Maul is actually slated for the first wave, but hopefully that’ll rid us of some of the shitty cannon fodder characters like Battle Droids, Gungans, Clones, etc., that often clogged the pegs with the Vintage Collection.
I’ll be keeping it simple with my Star Wars Legends wants by saying that my biggest hope is for the 6 bounty hunters from the Empire Strikes Back: Boba Fett, IG-88, Dengar, Bossk, 4-Lom, and Zuckuss.

Yep, I know we’ll probably never get anything beyond Boba Fett and maybe IG-88 and Bossk, but as someone who’s absolutely loving the hell out of Sideshow’s bounty hunters, I can only dream about have some hyper articulated version.

I'm for sure getting Luke, he looks amazing. I'm a huge Star Wars fan too and the Lego Tie Fighter on my shelf can attest to that (but so can my Kotobukiya Boba Fett) – I'm very happy about this line! Great news!
